Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Controls Project Manager for HVAC projects, leading on-site activities from planning through commissioning. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The role emphasizes planning, scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, risk mitigation, and customer relationship management across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• HVAC/building automation controls domain knowledge.
• Experience managing HVAC/building automation projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specs and control schematics.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and cost control.
• Risk management, change management, QA, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC controls projects through design, programming, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, installers, designers, and admin staff.
• Manage project financials including costs, billings, cash flow, and gross margin.
• Maintain customer communications and long-term relationships.
• Review scope, directives, changes, and pursue change orders as needed.
• Coordinate procurement: material selection, pricing, delivery schedules.
• Oversee system checkout, validation, and end-to-end commissioning.
• Prepare as-built records and warranty documentation.
• Provide owner/operator training on system operation.
