Johnson Controls is hiring an HVAC Controls Lead Project Specialist to lead on-site control systems projects from design through commissioning. You will manage hardware, software programming, and subcontractor coordination, while safeguarding schedule, quality, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Technical associate degree or 2 years field HVAC experience
• HVAC experience with mechanical systems and DDC
• Hands-on experience in design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls
• Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
• Ability to work independently on on-site activities
• Strong understanding of control theory and HVAC systems
• Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site control systems projects, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and financial targets are met
• Oversee hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout
• Manage project costs, billings, collections, profitability, and cash flow
• Pursue change orders and evaluate directives and scheduling changes
• Coordinate communication with the customer through all project phases
• Provide direction to subcontractors, installers, technicians, designers, and staff
• Manage material selection, pricing, delivery schedules, and subcontractor billing
• Coordinate panel and field device locations with project requirements
• Complete loading, device verification, commissioning, and as-built documentation
• Provide coaching to technicians and engineers and site training to owners/operators
