Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Project Manager for the HVAC division to lead on-site project execution from pre-construction through commissioning. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, field resources, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within contract requirements.

The role covers planning, scheduling, cost control, change management, risk mitigation, and documentation throughout the lifecycle, with emphasis on strong customer

Qualifications

• Four years of experience managing HVAC, Building Automation, controls, or commercial construction projects.
• Hands-on experience in design, installation, startup, commissioning, and turnover of digital HVAC or Building Automation control systems.
• Strong HVAC controls knowledge with understanding of BAS.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned HVAC controls projects through hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution with subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative support.
• Manage project financial performance including costs, billings, collections, cash flow, and gross margin.
• Maintain regular communication with customers throughout all phases and support long-term relationships.
• Review contractual scope, evaluate field directives, bulletins, and schedule changes, and pursue change orders when additional work is identified.
• Coordinate procurement activities, including material selection, ordering, vendor pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Oversee loading, device verification, system checkout, and commissioning of system controllers and related equipment.
• Validate complete system functionality, resolve issues, and ensure final installation meets requirements.
• Prepare accurate as-built records, commissioning documentation, manuals, and warranty documentation.
• Provide site-specific training for owners and operators on system operation and use.
• Attend job progress meetings, report project status, and provide forecasts for revenue, costs, and margin.
• Ensure work complies with safety standards and legal requirements.
