Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a senior Building Controls Engineer to design, configure, and service complex HVAC building control systems, along with related low-voltage subsystems such as lighting and data networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of construction/service or HVAC industry.
• Understanding of control theory, temperature controls and building automation.
• Experience integrating low voltage subsystems using protocols (LON, BACnet).
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong computer/drafting tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services technically complex building control systems.
• Creates flow diagrams, sequences of operations, BOMs and network layouts.
• Develops and tests software to operate systems per customer requirements.
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Orders and tracks materials for assigned jobs.
• Assists in loading and commissioning system and network controllers.
• Validates system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors.
• Provides field change info for as-built drawings and software.
• Keeps management and customers informed of progress and issues.
• Performs site-specific training for owners/operators.
• Participates in coordination meetings with Sales and Service.
• Performs value engineering to balance cost and customer satisfaction.
• May guide junior Service Controls Technicians.
• Adheres to safety standards.
