Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, configure, and operate complete building control systems with a focus on HVAC controls. You will develop submittals, software programs, and commissioning to ensure proper operation, while coordinating with field teams and subcontractors.

You will create detailed drawings, BOMs, and schematics, and assist in site testing, training, and handover. Requires technical degree and knowledge of control theory and building automation.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical degree; 3 years of related experience or equivalent in HVAC controls.
• Knowledge of HVAC industry and building automation from design to commissioning.
• Experience integrating low voltage subsystems using industry protocols; translate tech to non-tech audiences.
• Advanced computer skills; familiarity with drafting software and CAD tools.
• Willingness to travel ~75% to job sites outside the area.

Responsibilities

• Designs and configures complex building control systems per contract documents.
• Creates flow diagrams, sequences, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develops software programs to operate the system per project requirements.
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals/installation.
• Loads and commissions systems and tests functionality with subcontractors.
• Keeps project team informed of progress; supports training for owner/operators.
