Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. seeks an experienced electrical technician to perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HV and MV electrical equipment.

Based at the Blue Plains facility in Washington DC, with some local travel, you will ensure safe, compliant operations and support complex power distribution systems. You will work with high- and medium-voltage equipment, read schematics, use test equipment, and document all work in MAXIMO CMMS while following NFPA, NEC, OSHA

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in installing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems.
• NETA/AVO NICET or equivalent substation certifications required within 12 months from hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation inspections in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for electrical equipment and controls.
• Troubleshoot and test electrical equipment, circuit breakers and systems per procedures.
• Operate power distribution systems up to 69 kV.
• Take infrared images to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
• Maintain tools and test equipment used for installation and repair.
• Document work in MAXIMO CMMS.
• Follow PPE, lockout-tagout, arc flash and confined space protocols.
