Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing, LLC in Washington, DC is seeking an electrical technician to perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage equipment at the Blue Plains facility.

The role involves using test equipment, reading schematics, and adhering to NFPA, NEC, and OSHA safety guidelines. Applicants should have 2+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and NETA/NICET or equivalent certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 2+ years in electrical testing.
• Must possess and maintain NETA, NICET or equivalent certification in substation testing and maintenance within 12 months.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles related to complex multi-component assemblies/systems.
• Ability to use electrical test equipment to diagnose and correct problems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation testing, inspection, maintenance and repair on electrical equipment up to 69 KV.
• Troubleshoot and test electrical equipment, breakers and systems per procedures.
• Utilize PPE and follow lock-out/tag-out, arc flash and confined space protocols.
• Maintain and document work using MAXIMO CMMS.
