Job summary

M.C. Dean, a Washington, DC based electrical services leader, seeks an inspector/technician to perform testing, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage equipment at the Blue Plains facility, with some local travel.

You will use test equipment and follow NFPA/NEC safety standards to keep power systems reliable. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years experience in electrical testing, and relevant certifications, with the ability to lift, climb, and work at height.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 2+ years of progressive experience.
• Certification in substation testing (NETA/ NICET/ equivalent) within 12 months of hire.
• Valid motor vehicle license is required.
• Experience using electrical test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and control systems up to 69 kV.
• Operate power distribution systems and perform infrared imaging to identify issues.
• Follow PPE, Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Arc Flash, and confined space protocols.
