Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing, LLC seeks an experienced technician for inspection, testing, and maintenance of low to medium voltage electrical equipment. The role supports field and shop work at the Blue Plains facility in Washington, DC, with some local travel required.

Responsibilities include high-voltage testing, troubleshooting, and installation tasks, ensuring compliance with NFPA, NEC, and OSHA, and utilizing MAXIMO for CMMS documentation. Strong safety focus is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5+ years of progressive electrical experience, or an associate degree with 4 years of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain NETA, AVO Training Institute, NICET or equivalent certification in substation testing and maintenance within 12 months.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License.
• Knowledge of NFPA/NEC/OSHA guidelines and electrical theory.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Proficient with electrical test equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs substation inspections and maintenance up to 69 kV.
• Conducts preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and controls.
• Troubleshoots and tests electrical equipment and circuits per procedures.
• Operates power distribution systems up to 69 kV.
