Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing in Washington DC is seeking a skilled electrical technician to perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of low to medium voltage equipment at the Blue Plains facility, with some local travel.

The role requires knowledge of electrical distribution systems, use of test equipment, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Travel may be required for field and shop work.

Qualifications

• Requires HSD/GED with 7+ years of progressive experience or an associate degree with 5 years of related experience.
• Must possess or obtain within 12 months relevant certifications (NETA, AVO Training Institute, NICET) or equivalent.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Operating License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs substation testing, installation, maintenance and repair on electrical equipment and systems, including HV distributions.
• Conducts infrared imaging to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
• Responds to troubleshooting and testing of breakers and systems per procedures.
• Maintains equipment and tools used in testing, repair, installation, and replacement of electrical systems.
• Operates distribution systems up to 69 kV and adheres to PPE requirements.
• Utilizes MAXIMO CMMS to review assignments and document completed work.
