Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a field technician to perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment at the Blue Plains facility in Washington DC.

The role involves working with HV equipment up to 69 kV, using test equipment, completing preventive and corrective maintenance, and following Lock-Out-Tag-Out and Arc Flash procedures to ensure safety on site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5+ years' related experience.
• Associate's degree plus 4 years related experience in electrical/ electronic systems.
• Must hold current NETA, AVO Training Institute, NICET or equivalent certification within 12 months.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs substation inspections and maintenance on HV equipment up to 69 kV.
• Tests, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs electrical systems and panels.
• Operates power distribution systems and uses PPE per safety policies.
• Documents work and uses CMMS to review assignments.
