Job summary

WSP seeks an experienced POWER Testing and Energization Technician to support PTE activities across WA, ID, NV, AZ and UT. You will perform protection and control testing at substations, calibrate relays, and document results using digital tools. Strong safety and collaboration with field teams are essential.

The role requires 7+ years in electrical testing, knowledge of IEEE/NETA/NFPA standards, and the ability to travel up to 80% in the western US. A BS in EE or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• High voltage/substation testing experience and protective relays knowledge.
• Familiar with IEEE, NETA and NFPA standards applicable to testing.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and interpret schematics.
• Experience with relay calibration using test sets and measurement devices.
• Strong documentation and data review skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Conduct on-site relay testing with test sets (Omicron, Doble) on relays listed.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
• Support project leads and field supervisors; escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain logs, notes, and photo documentation; ensure safety and quality.
