Overland Contracting Inc is seeking a Substation helper to plan, lay-out, install, test, repair, and maintain high voltage substation wiring and equipment on-site at project locations. The role involves reading plans, using hand and power tools, and coordinating with crew to ensure safety and quality according to industry standards.

Minimum qualifications include extensive experience in high voltage/substation work and safety procedures.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum four years of experience in industrial construction or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of high voltage electrical and civil standards, forms and rebar.
• Ability to read plans and diagrams (one line diagrams, P&IDs, loop diagrams).
• Must have necessary tools and be able to complete onboarding requirements.

Aufgaben

• Plan, lay-out, install, test, repair, or maintain high voltage substation wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts, equipment and control systems in generating stations, substations, and inservice relays in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
• Use appropriate hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and install electrical conduits, cable and duct banks; hand dig ditches and holes; install control and distribution apparatus; work with high and low voltage systems; test continuity of circuits for safety and compatibility.
• Assess and manage safety hazards; participate in pre-job planning and safety discussions.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and industry standards; mentor helpers as needed.
• Work with teams to maintain zero injuries and safe operations at all times.
