Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer specialized in HV/EHV substation design to drive technical tasks under leadership of a Lead Engineer. You will develop HV substations with detailed drawings, BOMs, and layouts, while coordinating with protection, control, and electrical design teams.

You will also write HV equipment specs, review vendor quotations, and support the project from design through procurement, aiming to meet schedule and budget goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Work experience in power systems engineering and design.
• Ability and willingness to travel, including internationally.
• Passed FE exam, registered E.I.T. (nice to have).
• Familiarity with design calculations such as battery sizing, DC systems, bus sizing, and grounding.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical tasks for AC substation projects under the guidance of a Lead Engineer.
• Develop high voltage substation layouts, general arrangement and plan/elevation views, BOMs and equipment arrangements.
• Coordinate design with other disciplines (SLDs, schematics, relay protection).
• Write specifications for HV equipment and prepare material purchase requests.
• Evaluate vendor quotations for substation equipment (circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, HV cables).
• Collaborate with project team to maintain budget and schedule and interface with stakeholders.
