Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to design and layout high‑voltage substations, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate across disciplines on drawings, BOMs, cabling, grounding, and switchgear selections.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 1+ year in substation engineering, and travel up to 20%. Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (BSEE preferred).
• At least 1 year of Transmission & Distribution substation engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform AC HV substation designs and layouts.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, BOMs, and switchgear selections.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and suppliers.
• Develop technical specs, evaluate vendor quotations.
• Support project documentation and continuous improvement.
• Assist with drawing requirements and clarifications.
• Engage in proposals and technical responses.
