Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer focused on medium- and high-voltage power systems.

The role requires PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months and at least five years of consulting experience in HV design. You will design HV distribution systems for solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, and microgrids, and prepare construction drawings for 15kV–200kV environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience in medium/high-voltage power systems.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specs, submittals, and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and construction packages from 15kV to 200kV including substations and protective schemes.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for HV collection systems and substations up to 200kV.
• Perform electrical studies (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, relay coordination).
• Troubleshoot equipment issues in renewable facilities; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in project management tasks and client meetings; mentor team members.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings and site reviews.
