Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and high-voltage power systems in Florida. The role requires PE licensure or eligibility within six months and at least five years in consulting focused on MV/HV design.

You will design power distribution and transmission schemes for renewables, prepare full construction packages, and mentor engineers while collaborating with civil and structural teams across multiple offices. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting with a focus on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction administration for power projects.
• Graduate degree, professional registrations or publications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Traditional transmission and distribution design, both underground and overhead.
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for 15 kV–200 kV systems.
• Provide QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Support field personnel for MV/HV collection systems and substations up to 200 kV.
• Perform electrical studies (short-circuit, arc-flash, load flow, etc.).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with colleagues across offices.
• Lead project management activities and mentor engineers within the Power Market team.
