Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer - Medium/High Voltage in Illinois. The role requires PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months. You will design HV power distribution systems for renewable projects and prepare detailed construction packages up to 200 kV.

Responsibilities include HV system studies, QA/QC reviews, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams. Travel for client meetings and field reviews is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• PE licensure or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting with a focus on medium- and high-voltage power system design.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for complex electrical systems up to 200 kV.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for HV collection systems and substations.
• Perform electrical studies including short-circuit and arc flash analyses.
• Mentor engineering and design personnel within the Power Market team.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings and field reviews.
