Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer with medium/high voltage focus to join the Power Market team. The role requires PE licensure or eligibility within six months and at least five years of consulting experience.

You'll design MV/HV distribution, coordinate with civil and structural teams, prepare drawings and specs up to 200 kV, mentor staff, travel for field reviews, and support construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and PE licensure or eligibility within six months.
• 5+ years of consulting experience focusing on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittal reviews, and construction administration for power projects.
• Graduate degree and professional registrations are a plus.
• General Contractor License a plus

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for 15kV–200kV systems.
• QA/QC reviews to ensure standards compliance.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for MV/HV systems.
• Perform electrical studies including short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues at renewable facilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices.
• Conduct feasibility and design studies; prepare utility master plans.
• Participate in client meetings, design coordination, and construction administration.
• Mentor Power Market team members.
• Travel occasionally, with extended hours when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
