Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and high-voltage power systems to support renewable energy projects. The role requires PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months and a minimum of five years in consulting for HV design.

You will design 15–200 kV systems, prepare construction documents, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum 5 years of consulting experience focused on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittal reviews, and construction administration for power projects.
• Graduate degree or additional registrations/credentials are a plus.
• General Contractor License a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for 15–200 kV systems.
• Perform electrical studies including short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Lead QA/QC to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for substations and transmission equipment up to 200 kV.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with colleagues across offices.
• Participate in project management tasks including client meetings, system design coordination, and shop drawing review.
• Mentor junior engineers within the Power Market team.
