Job summary

The Human Services Counseling program requires a professional level program support specialist to assist students, employers, and staff. You will also organize events, create promotional materials, and maintain program records.

You will liaise with other offices, research data, and develop employer partnerships to align with local workforce needs. Some evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree and three years of clerical experience in an office setting, preferably customer service oriented.
  • Or a Bachelor's degree and one year of identical clerical experience; proficient with MS Office and desktop publishing software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and provide information on the Human Services Counseling programs to students, employers, external stakeholders, and the college community in person and by phone.
  • Assist with special projects, meetings and events.
  • Create promotional materials, newsletters and fliers for faculty/professional development activities.
  • Serve as liaison between the Human Services Counseling program and other offices or organizations.
  • Research, analyze and process data into college systems.
  • Seek out and develop relationships with employers to understand local workforce needs and place students in employment settings.
  • Manage components of Apprenticeship Sponsorships with employer partners and training customers.
  • Create and maintain records and files for the Human Services Counseling programs.
  • Compile reports, documents, forms and correspondence.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to provide professional level program support services to the Human Services Counseling program.

Associates degree and three (3) years of clerical experience working in an office environment, preferably a business which is customer service oriented. Or a Bachelor's degree and one year of identical experience. Experienced user of all Microsoft Office applications required and proficient with desktop publishing software preferred. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

    1. Assist and provide information on the Human Services Counseling programs to current and prospective students, employers, external stakeholders, and the college community in person and on the telephone.
    2. Assist with special projects, meetings and/or special events.
    3. Create promotional materials, newsletters and fliers for various faculty/professional development activities.
    4. Serve as liaison between the Human Services Counseling program and other offices or organizations.
    5. Research, analyze and process data into college systems.
    6. Seek out and develop relationships with employers to understand local workforce needs to develop programming and place students in a variety of employment settings.
    7. Manage assigned components ofApprenticeship Sponsorshipswith existing and potential Apprenticeship employer partners and training customers.
    8. Create and maintain records and files for the Human Services Counseling programs.
    9. Compile reports, documents, forms and correspondence.
