Job summary

Qualifications

• One year in the Senior Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree with three years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee processing of leave requests (FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, Military Leave) for policy compliance.
• Coordinate processing of workers' compensation claims and analyze Accident Reporting System data.
• Review workers' compensation leaves and Sick Leave Bank; obtain medical documentation and prepare correspondence.
• Review Workers' Compensation Board decisions and reimbursement forms.
• Calculate and reconcile pay adjustments in PayServ.
• Enter and review transactions in PeopleSoft and Kronos.
• Serve as liaison with the New York State Insurance Fund.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding leave and run leave reports.
• Assist in developing training materials and manuals.
• Assist with projects to improve unit operations and compliance.
• Occasional travel within New York State may be required.

Job description

The New York State Unified Court System is seeking a Principal Court Analyst that will be assigned to the Division of Human Resources Leaves Unit in Albany County. This position will handle complex matters related to the administration of employee leave and workers' compensation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and overseeing the processing of leave requests including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave, and Military Leave to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
• Coordinating the processing of workers' compensation claims and injury reports and analyzing case information in the Accident Reporting System.
• Reviewing and processing workers' compensation leaves and Sick Leave Bank requests; coordinating with employees to obtain required medical documentation and preparing correspondence regarding claim and leave status.
• Reviewing Workers' Compensation Board decisions and reimbursement forms.
• Calculating and reconciling pay adjustments in PayServ.
• Entering and reviewing transactions in PeopleSoft and Kronos.
• Serving as liaison with the New York State Insurance Fund.
• Responding to employee inquiries regarding leave.
• Running various leave reports.
• Assisting in the development, implementation and presentation of training material and manuals.
• Assisting with projects and procedural improvements to support unit operations and compliance.
• Occasional travel within New York State may be required.

Qualifications:

One year in the Senior Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
