Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations for a Twin Cities organization. You will advise employees and managers on policies, handle recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR compliance to foster a positive workplace.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience, knowledge of state and federal laws, and the ability to travel between Minnesota sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of HR Generalist/Recruiter experience.
• Working knowledge of federal and Minnesota employment laws.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel between Minnesota locations and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations and guidance on policies.
• Coordinate full-cycle recruiting, postings, screening, interviews, onboarding.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding.
• Assist managers with employee relations, investigations, coaching.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; support compliance.
• Coordinate benefits administration, leaves, workers' comp, and return-to-work.
• Support performance management, engagement, training, and process improvements.

About the Opportunity: Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Human Resources Generalist for an organization in the Twin Cities area. In this role, you'll support day-to-day HR operations while serving as a resource to employees and managers on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR policies. What You'll Do as a Human Resources Generalist:

• Support day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
• Coordinate full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and onboarding
• Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding to create a positive employee experience
• Assist managers with employee relations, performance concerns, policy interpretation, investigations, and employee coaching
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while supporting HR compliance requirements
• Coordinate benefits administration, leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation, and return-to-work activities
• Support performance management, employee engagement, training, and HR process improvement initiatives

What You Need to Bring to the Human Resources Generalist Role:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
• 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist, Recruiter, HR Coordinator, or related HR role
• Working knowledge of federal and Minnesota employment laws and HR best practices
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to occasionally travel between Minnesota locations; a valid driver’s license and satisfactory completion of a criminal background check are required
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification and experience in manufacturing, nonprofit, social enterprise, or multi-site environments are preferred
