Cal Poly Maritime Academy is seeking a part-time Human Resources Student Assistant for Fall 2026/Spring 2027 at the Solano Campus. The role supports the HR department with front desk duties, visitors, phones, and campus-wide mail, while offering hands-on experience in Human Resources.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, directing inquiries, handling mail, data entry, and assisting with various HR projects. A student worker is expected to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Typing and keyboarding skills with standard office equipment usage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Google Docs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Punctual, able to maintain confidentiality and present a friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide front desk reception for HR; direct visitors to the appropriate team member.
• Answer phones, transfer calls, check voicemail and reception emails daily.
• File, shred, photocopy, and sort materials as needed.
• Distribute mail and coordinate outgoing mail and faxes.
