Cal Poly Maritime Academy is seeking a part-time Human Resources Student Assistant for Fall 2026/Spring 2027 at the Solano Campus. The role supports the HR department with front desk duties, visitors, phones, and campus-wide mail, while offering hands-on experience in Human Resources.
Responsibilities include greeting visitors, directing inquiries, handling mail, data entry, and assisting with various HR projects. A student worker is expected to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Will perform reception duties for the administration building and support campus‑wide mail distribution. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, answering phones, distributing department mail, posting outgoing mail, and assisting with various projects and tasks within HR. The position also provides a student with knowledge and experience in Human Resources.
A student worker is exempt from the requirement for a background check, unless being considered for a position in which a background check is required by law or accessing Level I data, per the CSU Information Security policy (i.e., ICUAM 8030).

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
