Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead Compliance and Policy Development for a hospitality-focused client. You will review, develop, and implement HR policies aligned with SA labour law and industry best practices.

You’ll conduct audits, manage employee relations, advise on legal matters, and train managers to strengthen governance and risk mitigation across the HR function.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of South African labour law and practical application.
• Experience drafting and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Ability to advise on complex legal and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation, and review of HR policies and employee handbooks.
• Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, EEA and other labour laws.
• Conduct HR compliance audits and risk assessments with corrective actions.
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievances.
• Liaise with legal counsel and external HR consultants on complex matters.
• Develop and deliver training on HR policies and compliance requirements.
• Stay updated on labour law changes and advise the business.
• Manage HR aspects of legal disputes or investigations.
• Contribute to overall HR strategy and robust governance framework.
• Maintain accurate HR records and data privacy compliance.
