Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function in a hybrid role based in Welkom, Free State. You will design and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals, oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and performance management.

You will also develop organizational development programs, ensure compliance with South African labor laws, manage HR budgets, and guide senior management on HR-related decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Human Resources with 3+ years in senior HR leadership.
• Strong knowledge of South African labor law and HR best practices.
• Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Admin or related field; Master’s or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies aligned with business goals.
• Oversee talent acquisition, recruitment, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
• Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
• Administer compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
• Implement and manage performance appraisal systems and professional development programs.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations in the Free State and nationally.
• Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
• Manage HR budgets and resources effectively.
• Provide guidance and support to senior management on HR-related matters.
