Job summary

Keolis Austin seeks an HR Generalist to partner with the location's HR Manager and Director in daily HR administration, employee relations, leave management, recruitment, and compliance with company policies. This role requires coordinating on investigations, recruiting, leave administration, compliance, payroll and other HR objectives.

A successful candidate will have HR expertise and experience in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years progressive HR experience.
• 2 years investigation experience.
• Excellent knowledge of State’s Employment laws.
• Must be able to pass extensive background check.
• SHRM Certified and/or the ability to achieve SHRM Certification within first 6 months of employment.
• Travel required between facilities.
• Legal knowledge and understating of HR practices and policies.
• Transportation experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Employee Relations/Labor Relations: proactively engage in employee and labor relations issues.
• liaison between management and employees to resolve ER issues and grievances for both union and non-union employees.
• Recommend employee discipline as per the CBA.
• Collaborate with site leadership on actionable employee decisions and ensure high-quality HR processes.
• Work within the CBA; union environment experience is a plus.
• Conduct and complete employee investigations with confidentiality.
• May represent the Company at hearings.
• May create site-specific work rules while adhering to the CBA.
• Demonstrate employee advocacy and maintain relationships with union reps.
• Develop relationships with union representatives to seek resolutions.
