Job summary

MTM Transit is seeking a Manager of HR in Austin to guide the local HR team, manage labor relations, and oversee employee relations, compliance, and investigations. The role focuses on policy implementation, grievance handling, and contract adherence within a unionized environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in HR or related field, 3+ years in HR/employee relations, and 2+ years in a union setting, with strong knowledge of employment laws and policy administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field required.
• 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources/ Employee Relations or similar role.
• 2+ years’ experience in a Union setting required.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies/procedures and local, state, and federal employment laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance and developmental guidance to the Austin HR team.
• Handle labor relations and HR inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refer complex matters to management.
• Track information requests, hearings, and grievance timelines to ensure contract compliance.
• Serve as the initial contact for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
