Job summary

Werfen is seeking an HR Generalist to support recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and HR programs across the Orangeburg site. You will manage onboarding, HRIS, background checks, and eligibility verifications while partnering with managers to drive talent initiatives.

The role emphasizes compliance with employment laws and developing HR trainings, with exposure to a regulated medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
• Minimum of three (3) years previous progressive HR experience preferred; experience within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment a plus.
• Knowledge of general HR principles, employment laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of HRIS and ATS systems preferred.
• Experience developing and implementing trainings recommended.
• Strong knowledge of Excel; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional HR support including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, and HR program administration.
• Handle inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; escalate complex matters to HR team.
• Provide talent acquisition support; recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring; oversee temporary workforce.
• Partner with Hiring Manager to develop offers and ensure internal equity.
• Lead college recruitment initiatives and university partnerships; conduct onsite visits.
• Support onboarding, orientation, HRIS admin, background checks, and eligibility verifications.
• Develop and deliver HR trainings; contribute to HR programs and events.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; track HR metrics.
