Job summary

Six Degrees Search is partnering with a financial services firm in Wheaton, Illinois, to identify a hands-on HR Generalist – Benefits & Recruiting. This role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations within a small- to mid-sized team.

The ideal candidate has 3–10 years of HR experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a growing organization.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of progressive HR experience, with flexibility for candidates who bring the right combination of skills.
• Hands-on experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee benefits administration.
• Experience or exposure within financial services, banking, insurance, mortgage, investment management, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with HR systems, payroll processes, and employment compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting & onboarding: manage full-cycle recruiting, postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offers.
• Benefits administration & employee relations: coordinate benefits programs, open enrollment, and broker/vendor coordination.
• HR operations & process improvement: maintain HR records, payroll support, and policy development.
• Business & office operations: assist leadership, coordinate vendors, and drive internal communications.
