Six Degrees Search has partnered with a growing financial services firm in Wheaton, IL to identify an HR Generalist focusing on benefits and recruiting. The role is hands-on, not a people-management track, and requires you to own day-to-day HR tasks while supporting business operations.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of progressive HR experience.
• Hands-on experience with recruiting, onboarding, and benefits administration.
• Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, mortgage, or related industry preferred.
• Familiarity with HR systems, payroll processes, and employment compliance.
• Experience working with benefits brokers and insurance carriers is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.
• Partner with leadership to identify hiring needs and support workforce planning.
• Coordinate new-hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation.
• Help develop recruiting and onboarding processes as the organization grows.
• Coordinate employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefits.
• Manage annual open enrollment and assist employees with benefits questions and elections.
• Work with brokers, carriers, and outside vendors.
• Maintain employee records and assist with employee relations matters.
• Support HR compliance, policies, and employee communications.
