Job summary

Action Overhead Garage Door is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations for ~100 employees across multiple locations. The role covers payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, HRIS, recruiting, onboarding, and records maintenance.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, able to handle multiple priorities, and serves as a resource for employees and managers while ensuring compliance and timely HR processes.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll, including reviewing timecards and employee changes, reconciling payroll results, and resolving discrepancies.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, COBRA coordination, payroll deductions, and carrier invoice reconciliation.
• Coordinate workers' compensation claims, including initial reporting, communication with employees and insurance representatives, work restrictions, and return-to-work coordination.
• Coordinate employee leaves, including FMLA, Minnesota Paid Leave, and other applicable leave programs.
• Maintain accurate employee information in the HRIS and personnel files and regularly audit payroll, benefit, and employee data.
• Lead recruiting and hiring, including job postings, candidate communication, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.
• Coordinate employee separations, required documentation, unemployment responses, and final recordkeeping.
• Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding payroll, benefits, HR policies, procedures, and general employment questions.
• Maintain HR deadlines, job descriptions, employee handbook updates, policies, forms, and required records.
• Document employee concerns and workplace matters and elevate sensitive or higher-risk issues to management as appropriate.
• Assist with HR projects and other responsibilities as business needs evolve.
• Provide coaching and training to help managers strengthen their leadership and people-management skills
