Job summary

Action Overhead Garage Door is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations for ~100 employees across locations. Responsibilities include payroll, benefits, workers’ compensation, HRIS administration, recruiting, onboarding, records, leave administration, and policy guidance.

The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines while supporting managers and employees across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on HR experience in a generalist role.
• Experience independently processing payroll.
• Experience with benefits administration and workers’ compensation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll and resolve discrepancies.
• Administer employee benefits including enrollments and COBRA coordination.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
• Coordinate FMLA and state leave programs.
• Maintain accurate HRIS and employee records; audit data.
• Lead recruiting, job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
• Coordinate employee separations and unemployment responses.
• Provide HR policy guidance and answer employee questions.
• Maintain job descriptions and employees handbooks; update records.
• Document employee concerns and escalate when needed.
• Assist with HR projects and training to managers.
