Job summary

Equipment Depot, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to administer employee leave programs, coordinate accommodations, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role also serves as back-up for onboarding and manages terminations according to state guidelines.

You will liaise with employees, managers and vendors, develop SOPs and workflows, monitor leave status and return-to-work dates, and assist with COBRA administration while supporting benefits projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of leaves and accommodations management.
• Knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, and military leaves.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with HRIS systems.
• PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and administer leave programs in accordance with federal, state and local employment laws (FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.).
• Serve as the primary HR liaison for employees, managers, and vendors throughout the leave lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, decision trees, manager guides, employee FAQs and process documentation.
• Maintain contact with employees and inform managers about leave status and return-to-work dates.
• Facilitate return-to-work process for employees returning from leaves.
• Manage employee benefits while on leave and administer COBRA as needed.
• Manage union leaves according to CBA and company guidelines.
• Back-up for new hire onboarding as needed.
• Manage all company terminations – documentation, systems process, and COBRA.
• Work with benefits on projects/open enrollment as time permits.
