Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an HR Generalist II or III for the Paris District. The role supports hiring, employee relations, training, benefits, and day-to-day HR needs within a busy district environment.

Located at Paris District Headquarters, this exempt position involves travel up to 25% and a typical 40-hour work week, with flexible hours between 7am and 6pm. Pay bands and levels are defined by HR Generalist II (B22) or III (B24).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the human resources field.
• Experience in hiring, employee relations, training, benefits, and HR operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

• Participates in hiring activities, including managing job openings, screening applications, assisting with interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.
• Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation, enrollment, and HR-related meetings; travels to district locations for events.
• Provides guidance to management on sensitive employee matters and responds to inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
• Generates and analyzes reports related to human resources activities and maintains confidential records.
