Job summary

North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an HR Generalist in the Administration Department to support HR duties for about 420 employees. The role involves employee relations, training, recruitment, and equity programs while administering health and retirement plans agency-wide.

The position requires at least 3 years in HR, a bachelor’s degree (or 9 years of related experience in lieu), and a 4-days-in-office work week.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal labor regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA).
• Experience with HRIS and payroll ad-hoc data reporting.
• Strong data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct HR trainings and workshops.
• Lead training to bridge skills gaps and support employee growth.
• Assist with employee relations, investigations, and policy enforcement.
• Partner with HR leadership on system implementations over the next 18 months.
• Support compensation design and equity plan updates.
• Assist recruitment advertising and relationships with agencies/universities.
• Update job descriptions and HRIS records; track applicant flow.
• Analyze data to inform management decisions.
