Six Degrees Search is partnering with a growing financial services firm in Wheaton, IL, to identify an HR Generalist – Benefits & Recruiting. This hands-on role covers recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR operations in a smaller, growth-focused environment.

The role emphasizes independent work, initiative, and the ability to build processes that scale with the company. It offers a base salary of $70,000–$85,000 with bonus and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of progressive HR experience with flexibility for the right skill mix.
• Hands-on recruiting, onboarding, and benefits administration.
• Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with HR systems, payroll processes, and employment compliance.
• Experience working with benefits brokers and carriers is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting & onboarding: manage full-cycle recruiting, postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offers.
• Benefits administration & employee relations: manage benefits programs, open enrollment, and broker relations.
• HR operations & process improvement: maintain HR systems, payroll coordination, policy development, and process improvements.
• Business & office operations: support leadership with admin tasks and vendor coordination.
