Job summary

Six Degrees Search partners with a growing financial services firm in Wheaton, Illinois, to identify an HR Generalist focused on benefits and recruiting. The role is hands-on, not a traditional management position, with ownership of day-to-day HR tasks and processes in a smaller organization.

The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle recruiting, benefits administration, onboarding, and HR operations, collaborating with leadership to support growth while ensuring compliance and positive employee

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–10 years of progressive HR experience.
• Hands-on experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee benefits administration.
• Experience or exposure within financial services, banking, insurance, mortgage, investment management, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with HR systems, payroll processes, and employment compliance.
• Experience working with benefits brokers and insurance carriers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruiting, posting, sourcing, interviewing, and offer coordination.
• Benefits Administration & Employee Relations: Coordinate benefits programs, open enrollment, and employee questions.
• HR Operations & Process Improvement: Maintain HR systems, records, payroll coordination, and policy development.
• Business & Office Operations: Support leadership with admin tasks and vendor relations.
