HR Business Partner - Northeast/Midwest Region

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources team of UtiliQuest, LLC as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).

UtiliQuest is seeking a dynamic field human resources professional to partner with field operations Directors, Managers, and Supervisors in our offices across the Northeast and Midwest regions. The HRBP reports directly to the Manager, Human Resources and plays a critical role in supporting teams and employees throughout the region. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and willing to delve deep into field operations within a construction environment to foster cultural change.

Our HR team supports employees company-wide, holding high standards and expectations. We seek a self-motivated professional with strong work ethic, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success partnering with field management and managing aspects such as:

  • Employee relations investigations and responses

  • Legal compliance at federal and multi-state levels

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the point of contact for employee HR matters
  • Investigating employee concerns confidentially
  • Mentoring and advising supervisors and managers to maximize results
  • Communicating professionally and collaborating across all levels
  • Maintaining integrity and respect in all interactions
  • Making sound decisions and solving problems effectively
  • Monitoring leave management (FMLA, Workers’ Comp, etc.)
  • Supporting hiring processes and posting job listings
  • Participating in job fairs and partnering with community organizations
  • Maintaining accurate recruitment and applicant records
  • Screening candidates and assisting with interviews
  • Coordinating background checks and drug screenings

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required
  • 1-3 years HR experience in a multi-state, multi-unit environment, preferably with field-based employees
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR record
  • Knowledge of employment laws (ERISA, ADEA, COBRA, etc.)
  • Experience with HRIS systems (UKG, iCIMS) a plus
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • High integrity and respect for others
  • Ability to understand business needs and build trust

Physical requirements & exposures:

  • Ability to work in office, travel, and remote environments
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods
  • Travel up to 75%, including driving, flying, and train travel
  • Lift up to 15 lbs and carry materials during travel

Salary Range: $67,000 - $75,000 annually
