Job summary

Jericho Project in New York seeks a House Manager for Melrose (Bronx) to oversee site security and support clerical duties on a new 129-unit development with PSH units. Social services are provided in partnership with the project.

The role requires crisis response, incident reporting, rent/leave coordination, and ensuring tenant safety. Strong communication and a year of customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Fire Guard Certification required (must obtain within first year).
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
• Experience working with individuals with substance abuse history.
• Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Securing and maintaining the safety of the tenants and the facility.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Report and electronically document all incidents on site.
• Assist with filing, rent collection, time & leave calendars and timesheet collection.
• Monitor and visually verify that clients are safe by conducting room checks per direction.
• Monitor client/visitor activity.
• Maintain compliance with fire safety codes.
• Work with Building Operations Manager to assist tenants in meeting lease terms.
• Maintain security by conducting floor checks at shift start.
• Attend house meetings and staff meetings; perform light porter duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
