Community Housing Innovations, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Program Director to oversee the management and operations of the facility, ensuring residents receive appropriate services and staff are well-supported.

The role emphasizes compliance with DHS/OTDA regulations, shelter operations, and building maintenance, with a focus on independence, safety, and cultural sensitivity for residents.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or similar field required.
• Combination of five years of experience in social services with at least three years of supervisory experience in social work or human services, program administration, and facilities management.
• Experience with immigrants and immigration issues prioritized.
• In lieu of a Master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree in human services in addition to 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Communication: Professional and impeccable verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required, multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency prioritized.
• Computer skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet. Experience with CARES, HOME, CAPS, and AWARDS prioritized.
• Budgeting: Ability to develop and manage program budgets.
• Physical performance and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee residential services and ensure quality and appropriate services per program requirements.
• Manage program contracts, deliverables, and ensure KPIs are aligned with metrics.
• Update and maintain Policy and Procedure manuals in compliance with DHS shelter operations guidance and CHI policies.
• Supervise site staff; conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings and performance reviews.
