Job summary

New Life Shelter in New York, NY is seeking a Housing Program Manager to lead housing operations and ensure DHS/VA/ICL goals are met. The role oversees teams, coordinates housing applications, and drives discharge planning under the Program Director.

The position requires a Master's in a human services field and at least 2 years in shelter settings, with supervisory/administrative experience. Onsite work, full-time schedule, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a human services field.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a shelter or community residential setting.
• Knowledge of DHS PIP system and housing regulations.
• Experience in supervisory or administrative roles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise housing team leader and entitlements specialist to meet DHS/VA/ICL goals.
• Oversee housing applications and initial housing plan.
• Monitor entitlements staff and client assessments within 72 hours.
• Coordinate with Director of Social Services and Central Access.
• Maintain housing tracking systems and data.
• Coordinate housing fairs and liaise with landlords.
• Participate in HR processes and interviews.
• May perform duties of Housing Coordinator.
