Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Specialist to identify housing options for program participants and help families achieve sustainable, healthy independent living. You will work as part of the VOALA team, performing assessments, service planning, and direct engagement with clients on-site.

The role involves locating housing, coordinating move-in activities, and connecting clients with landlords and community resources to secure permanent housing.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance/background check required.
• Ability to perform under emotional stress and conflicts with difficult clients.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (four years).
• Experience with veterans, people in recovery, or homelessness is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Identifies and locates housing options suitable for homeless program participants.
• Develops support systems to meet clients' housing needs and coordinates move-in activities.
• Coordinates with case management and community resources to assist clients in permanent housing.
• On-site duties and engagement with landlords to support program goals.

Connaissances

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Formation

Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related discipline
