Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Specialist II to identify housing options for program participants and assist families in achieving sustainable, healthy independent living. You will be part of the services team, leading assessment, planning, engagement and service delivery with a focus on housing placement.

The role requires collaboration with case management, outreach, and community engagement, assisting with comprehensive screenings and developing Individual Service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and work experience)
• Two years of general experience in case management, including helping homeless individuals navigate housing
• Fingerprint clearance, background checks, and TB screening as required

Responsibilities

• Identify housing options suitable for homeless participants and refer to VOALA shelters as needed
• Develop housing databases linking tenants to apartments and communicate with landlords
• Coordinate move-in activities, rental negotiations, and service referrals with case management teams
