Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Specialist to identify housing options for program participants and help them achieve sustainable, independent living. The role involves on-site collaboration with the program team, including assessment, services planning, and delivery of housing referrals.

Responsibilities include establishing landlord relationships, maintaining a housing database, processing move-in activities, and coordinating community resources to prevent eviction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience (four years)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) preferred

Responsibilities

• Identifies and locates housing options suitable for homeless participants.
• Develops support systems to meet individual client's housing needs; coordinates move‑in activities and referrals.
• Maintains housing database linking tenants to apartments and communicates with landlords.
• Coordinates with Case Management team and supports community engagement.
• On-site services required; reports to work on-site daily.
