Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Specialist II to identify housing options for participants and assist families in achieving sustainable, healthy independent living.

In this on-site role you will lead assessments, engage with landlords, coordinate move-in activities, and connect clients with community resources and supports as part of a holistic service approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Two years of general experience in case management.
• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks including TB screening and immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and locates housing options suitable for homeless program participants.
• Creates and maintains a housing database linking tenants to apartments.
• Communicates with landlords and familiarizes them with the program and participant needs.
• Develops move-in activities and rental negotiations to support housing placement.
• Coordinates follow-up services with the case management team and community resources.
