Job summary

CAMBA is seeking an Intake Specialist to coordinate the intake process for individuals and families facing housing crises. You will review eligibility documentation, collect detailed information, and assess homelessness risk according to program guidelines.

You will communicate program services and requirements to clients, schedule appointments, refer to internal and external resources, and maintain up-to-date client resources in the reception area.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong writing abilities for assessments, plans, notes and reports.
• Clear communication with supervisors, clients, funders and the public.
• Basic mathematical concepts used in everyday case work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate intake with individuals and families in housing crises; collect eligibility data and housing history.
• Assess homelessness risk per program guidelines.
• Explain services, eligibility, and limitations to clients clearly.
• Schedule appointments, make referrals, and share community resources.
• Ensure client resources are up-to-date in the reception area.
• Perform data entry, filing, copying, and faxing of documents.
