Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Housing Case Manager to support the Transitional Living Program. You will assist clients in accessing affordable housing, provide case management, job development, and workshops to build self-sufficiency.

Qualifications include AA degree in a related field, 1–3 years housing experience, valid California driver license, and ability to work under pressure. You will maintain confidential records, coordinate with landlords, and support clients

Qualifications

• AA degree in a related social services field; 1–3 years of experience or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in housing, case management, outreach and education services.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documents.
• Responds to inquiries from customers or regulatory agencies.
• California valid Class C driver license required.
• Must be 21 years or older; able to pass DMV pull notice.
• Complete Salvation Army vehicle course training.
• Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provides housing case management including intake, assessment, information/referral, housing placement and follow-up.
• Provides case management geared to housing and job development; supports job preparation and workshops.
• Establishes and maintains a housing referral system with landlords and agencies.
• Coordinates periodic workshops on housing and employment topics for clients.
• Maintains confidential client records and tracks Bridges data.
• Attends required trainings and submits paperwork promptly.
• Maintains professional conduct and communicates with supervisor regularly.
• Reports to work on time and performs duties as assigned.
