Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Harrisonburg is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily hotel operations. This role is the property’s second-in-command and focuses on delivering Marriott brand standards, guest satisfaction, associate performance, and financial controls while maintaining property standards.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel management or supervisory experience required; Marriott experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in Front Desk operations, guest service, supervision, and room inspections.
• Familiarity with basic hotel financial controls, scheduling, payroll, and interdepartmental coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations with focus on Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Bistro/F&B.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when GM is unavailable.
• Maintain strong presence across the property and interact with guests and associates.
• Conduct daily property walks and guestroom inspections for cleanliness and safety.
• Monitor guest feedback and coordinate corrective actions with departments.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Support department managers and enforce brand standards and procedures.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and adapt to occupancy needs.
